Restoring a site backup
When you restore a site, the virtual machine and all data disks are restored. All SQL databases are included in the restore.
Note: The virtual machine is stopped before it is restored. It is started again after the restore process is complete.
- Click Dashboard | Site Dashboard.
- Click the site Name.
- Click Restore backup in the Operations panel.
- To restore a backup, click the Restore database icon beside the backup and click Yes.
- To download a backup, click the Download icon beside the backup and click Yes. When the database is listed in the On Demand Backups panel, click the Download icon beside the database in the panel and click Yes.
- To copy a backup, click the Copy backup icon beside the backup and click Yes. The database is listed in the On Demand Backups panel.
- To delete a backup, click the Delete icon beside the backup in the On Demand Backups panel and click Yes.
Note: If you're a Sage partner using your own Azure subscription, keep in mind that a copy of the original disk files are left in Azure when a site is restored, which may represent an extra cost.
It is possible to recover individual files from a backup file, and you can find instructions on the Microsoft website. However, we strongly recommend that you avoid this practice unless you are a partner with experience doing so or are working with Sage Support.
Caution! Restoring individual files can corrupt your data and lead to instability in your Sage application.
