Direct debit data

Description of fields used to enter direct debit information
Field Description
Confirm bank Indicates that the user holds a bank account.
Confirm authorization Indicates that the user is permitted to use the account and take debits from the account.
Account name

The bank account name. This is required for a UK, Republic of Ireland, or European bank account.

Sort code The account sort code. This is six digits and is required for a UK bank account.

Account number

The bank account number. This is a maximum of ten digits and is required for a UK bank account.

Business Identifier Code (BIC)

An eight or eleven character code, consisting of upper case Latin alphabetic characters and numbers 0-9. Also known as a SWIFT code. This is required for a Republic of Ireland or European bank account.

International bank account number (IBAN)

A code consisting of upper case Latin alphabetic characters, numbers 0-9, and the space character. This is required for a Republic of Ireland or European bank account.
