Recommended virtual machine size for Sage 100 SQL site

When adding a site for the Sage 100 SQL product, we recommend switching off the Platform suggested size for the the virtual machine and selecting the custom size Large Standard_B8ms for optimal performance. For more information, see Adding a Sage 100 SQL Site in the Sage Provisioning Portal.

The following enhancements were added June 15, 2023.

Operating system version for Sage 100 virtual machine

On the Site Details page, the Notes field now displays the operating system version for the virtual machine on which Sage 100 is installed.

For example, OS 10.0.17763 (KB4589208 Update 08/16/2022); Sage 100 Standard 2022 (7.10.1.0) displays at the Notes field, indicating that the operating system was last updated 08/16/2022. This information is useful when contacting Sage Support.

Remote desktop protocol applications persist

When logging out or session time-out from the Sage Partner Cloud Sage 100 page, remote desktop protocol (RDP) applications no longer close automatically. RDP applications persist and remain open.

Updated Sage Provisioning Portal log messages

The Sage Provisioning Portal log now tracks SPP engine operation communication with virtual machine PowerShell scripts. If the operation status is Faulted, an error exception message is shown in the log.

The following enhancement was added November 4, 2022.

Replicate operation for Sage 100

A Replicate operation has been added to the SPP for Sage 100 sites. You can use this operation to create a new site based on an existing one. The new site can use the same version of Sage 100 as the original site, or you can select a later version. The Sage 100 data from the original site will be attached as a separate drive on the new site for use with migration. For more information, see Replicating a Site for Sage 100.

The following enhancements were added March 31, 2022.

Sage Provisioning Portal log messages

The Sage Provisioning Portal logs contain messages about operations performed on Sage 100 sites. These messages contain the operation name, the activity process, and -- if applicable -- any data related to that activity. A status is included at the end of each message. The statuses are:

  • Executing
  • Completed
  • Faulted

If an operation's status is Faulted, the faulting activity is shown in the logs. This information may be useful if you need to contact Sage Support.

Lock and unlock users at the site level

You can go to the user section on a site details page to lock or unlock a user.

Support for apostrophes in user names

You can perform operations for users whose names include an apostrophe.

The following enhancement was added February 13, 2022.

Replicate operation for Sage 300

A Replicate operation has been added to the SPP for Sage 300 sites. You can use this operation to create a new site based on an existing one. The new site can use the same version of Sage 300 as the original site, or you can select a later version. For more information, see Replicating a site.

The following enhancements were added January 9, 2022.

Sage 100 version on Site Details page

A Notes field has been added to the Site Details page. For Sage 100, this field displays the version of Sage 100 that's installed.

Important! This feature requires updates to the Sage 100 home page that were released on February 17, 2022. In addition to these updates, you must install the program fix for the applicable version of Sage 100 on the site's virtual machine. For more information and to download the program fix, see one of the Sage Knowledgebase articles listed below:

Security options link added to user profile menu

A Security options link has been added to the user profile menu. You can click this link to manage security options for your account, including your password, multifactor authentication, and personal details.

SPP is updated with Sage account email changes

When you update the email address used for your Sage account, the email address is automatically updated in the Provisioning Portal. If applicable, your email address will also be updated in applications installed in the sites that your are assigned to.

The following enhancement was added August 3, 2021.

Sage 100 2021 is available

Sage 100 version 2021 with Update 1 is now available when provisioning a site. You can select either version 2020 or 2021.

To learn about the new features in Sage 100 2021, see the What's New guide. For a list of program fixes, see the release notes for Sage 100 2021 and for Update 1.

The following enhancements were added February 6, 2021.

Azure SQL server and database login management

You can add an Azure SQL server to a site when installing an application that requires its own SQL server. On the site details page, in the Database servers panel, click Add SQL Server and enter the required information.

Note: The Sage Provisioning Portal does not create database elastic pools when creating an Azure SQL Server. Any new database must be created in Azure or by the application that you install.

After you've added an Azure SQL server, you can add a login for the server databases. In the SQL server details window, click Add Login and enter the required information. You can then assign the login to a database.

For more information on this enhancement and related tasks, see Managing additional Azure SQL servers.
